Ivan Ritossa

Head of Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa

Ivan Ritossa is a Managing Director and Head of Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa at Barclays Capital. He is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and the Asia Pacific Executive Committee.

Mr. Ritossa joined Barclays Capital in 2002 as Head of Foreign Exchange. In 2007 he assumed additional responsibility as Head of Global Markets Asia Pacific, and Prime Services in 2008. He was appointed Deputy Head of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) in September 2010. He assumed his current role in June 2011.

Prior to joining Barclays Capital, Mr. Ritossa was at Lehman Brothers where he was Co-Global Head of Foreign Exchange and Emerging Markets based in London. Previously, Mr. Ritossa was at Bankers Trust until 1999 where he was a Senior Managing Director and member of the Management Committee of Bankers Trust Australia. He began his career at Bankers Trust and worked in various roles in Sydney, Singapore and London.

Mr. Ritossa was previously a member of the New York Federal Reserve Foreign Exchange Committee and The Bank of England Foreign Exchange Joint Standing Committee. He now sits on the Singapore Foreign Exchange Market Committee and the Board of Absa Group.

Mr. Ritossa has an Honours degree in Finance from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
